SNØEN Danser (The Snow Is Dancing) is the story of 11 year old Freyja who is moved from her family home in Oslo to be with her Bestemor (Grandmother) who lives in a small town in the frozen north of the country. Although her parents don’t realise it, she in fact knows they are going through a divorce and, like a lot of children in that situation, believes that she is the cause, a belief reinforced by the move.

Although she loves Bestemor deeply, she is homesick and also desperately shy, so the children in the school she attends in the town think she is stuck-up and stand-offish; when she does speak they make fun of her posh city accent. The ringleader of the bullies is Tomas and, in a weird and very strange and scary way, she finds how to regain her power and overcome him.
